Very family friendly & we return every time we travel!

We travel between the UK and Italy very often, with two young children and now an infant too. This hotel is our regular stop. It is always clean and staff friendly. Parking is safe and it’s near a gas station and a McDonalds (for whoever needs it). It’s convenient to the motorway too. We always always book this place and never regret it. We will sometimes add on the breakfast buffet option too. The food is fine and during winter at least it offers a healthy and warm breakfast for our family before going on long second day of our drive. Highly recommend

A pleasant experience in disturbing times.

The receptionist was very helpful in these difficult times. The room was warm, spacious, pleasant, toilet arrangements were good and the bed was comfortable. We were sited on the ground floor, as requested and (very welcome and, in our experience, very unusually) there was a trolley for our rather voluminous luggage, when, for health safety reasons, you need to take your house on your back! Bad: Nothing!

A decent place for a one night stop over.

This is a hotel from a chain and could be anywhere in the world. If you want to transit out of Germany across France (or the other way) the location is perfect close to the motorway but the location on a trading estate is not inspiring and the hotel feels soulless. The one redeeming feature is the fabulous Italian restaurant on the other side of the main road. Bad: During the covid crisis the restaurant and bar were hardly functioning and the hotel felt rather under staffed. I didn't take the breakfast which at 15e felt very expensive. Most of the facilities were closed and its a drive in to the city.

Ideal Hotel for stopover

Very good location if you are travelling back to the Euro Tunnel, with a number of food outlets nearby. Bad: Not all TV channels worked , they went blank after about 10 minutes viewing.

A handy place to stay

Everything Bad: Nothing

Awesome

The staff was very helpful and professional, and the room was very comfortable and clean. I particularly appreciated the big desk in front of the window, which was useful to do some office work. I ate at the restaurant of the hotel and the food was really good and good value for the money. The location is also perfect as it's on the way to Franc, very close the border (under 1 Km). Overall, very nice experience. Bad: Nothing

Hotel Mercure Saarbrücken

The lady who checked us in complimented me on my legible handwriting. That's a plus right there. The location was exactly what we needed, right next to the French border and near a gas station. The room was good, standard, no frills, but perfectly adequate for a night's sleep. We had a meal in the evening, a very good flammkuchen, as you would expect that close to Alsace. All in all good value for the money and a good place for a stopover. Bad: We didn't expect luxury, so there was nothing not to like.

Good location & reasonable price. Accommodating staff and pet friendly

Hotel was in a good location for our needs. Cost reasonable and the staff helpful. We had 3 dogs so this was always going to be a challenge but they helped us and didnt seem phased by our party of 2 adults and 3 dogs. There was a nice exercise area out the front and nearby. Bad: Wasnt possibel to get any food as the restaurant was closed and there was no room service.

Location staff price Bad: Hard to be picky at the price I paid.

Great location but in desperate need of a makeover and stinks of smoke.

Location was great for access to the motorway. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Bad: Room stank of smoke, bedding was ripped, swimming pool was closed which upset the kids. Part of the reason we booked this hotel (as well as the location). Price of hotel was much cheaper directly than we paid on booking.com !!

Great overnight stop

Convenient location for exploring the Rhine region. Within easy reach of the Channel Tunnel.

Ideal location just off the motorway

Ideal location just off the motorway, clean and pleasant room, with friendly staff. Unfortunately restaurant for evening meal and bar currently closed due to pandemic, this is not a criticism, just for info and staff did direct us to an Italian restaurant just across the road. Bad: Nothing in the circumstances

Very Good

The room was clean all round and quite spacious. Surprised to see a door between the hall and bedroom which made the suite feel more like and apartment. The staff were very friendly and professional. Unfortunately we didn't have time to have breakfast, but I can say that at 6am the staff were all smiling ready to welcome guests. Bad: The only thing that I could probably comment is that the carpet in the hallway was a tittle worn/dirty, so it could do with a refresh. Other than that everything else was good.

Convenient location

Good for travel stop off. Rooms comfortable and breakfast good Bad: A bit grubby on staircases

Anita on Booking.com, 23.08.2020

Not strict enough for guests re Covid19, people without masks in lobby not confronted by staff.

H on Booking.com, 23.08.2020

Efficient border hotel.

Great location near the border. Very quiet for being close to the motorway. We stayed here so we could pass through France to the Eurotunnel without leaving the car.

I didn't like that staff was not wearing masks! Also I couldn't decide the temperature in my room and It got quite cold during the night.

Good location for rest stop - close to motorway. Friendly and helpful service. Lots of attention to covid safety measures. Plenty of off road parking on grounds of hotel. The hotel also offers carts to make carrying bags from car to the room easy. Room had everything we needed. Bad: The room temperature could not be regulated to suit personal preference.

Comfortable stay - don’t be put off by the exterior first impression!!

Comfortable beds! Pleasant staff. Bad: Location- industrial estate near large lorry park with lots of cigarette buts, empty alcohol bottles and multiple nitrous oxide canisters strewn on the road outside. Looked a very dodgy area.

Alex on Booking.com, 23.02.2020

Good hotel for business trip

A nice stay on the way to Germany. close to highway, agreeable environment. A nice stay. Room service closes too early together with restaurant. For late travellers, no way to eat after 10pm. Except to go to an hugly Mac Donalds nearby.

All you expect from this company in a meh location

It was a hotel fitting the standards of the company with friendly staff and all the comfort. We appreciated that we could have dinner and a drink there directly in a comfortable setting. The cot for our child was setup as requested. Bad: The restaurant a bit expensive and the choice of food a bit too local. Something a bit more international would be nice. The waiting staff was friendly but they should put another person to help out. It's a two-people's job.
